Making the Post-It Buddy for Blue Penguin

Blue Penguin came to us with an idea.

What if we had something with their logo as a desk buddy for their clients?

It needed to be easy to pack in a letter & have their logo.

Brilliant!

Then I started to think about it, I wanted to make it useful. Why just having plastic around if it doesn't have a purpose?

So I started designing the Post-It Buddy using their logo as a base for it.

We converted their logo into a format I could work with, built the multiple parts for the belly and the main body and then started to work on the "standee" mechanism.

I wanted something simple, not over-doing it.

After all, his clients are going to receive this and I really want them to have the magical "wow" moment!

So I went with a slide-in mechanism and a little extrusion on the back to make sure that slide stays in place.

This is the result:

Blue Penguin was more than happy with the result and so are we!

The whole process was smooth and we managed to find the perfect balance between compactness and stability.
